Always The Explorer
04:55
|
|
||
looking to the endless sea, Explorer always moving on
drawn to find the land where time is born
never content to live his life by the common rules of society
setting sail to face the unknown-eternal quest for knowledge
compelled to find the meanings of life
answers to the questions whispered from within
Shut the light and close the door-searching for evermore
always on the run-the prodigal son
always the explorer
plotting a course of predetermined destiny
pushing the boundaries of sanity to search another day
programmed with insaitiable wanderlust
without rhyme or explanation
leaving the familiar things behind to set out once again
existing on the knife edge of utter madness
shut the light and close the door-searching for evermore
always on the run-the prodigal son
always the explorer
awakened to find the years are gone
a legacy dismantled by Time- the cruel master
come to realize the endless voyage
has stripped away all ties to the past
locked inside this vast constrain with no one left to carry on
crumbled bones that came to rest
on a distant land that rises from the turquoise sea
anonymous end to a perpetual wanderer-always the explorer
further and farther how long can this go on?

Night Sweats
08:22
|
|

finally gone crazy after all these years
silently screaming in the depths of my fears
fantasy replaced by cold reality
suddenly awake again
clutching at the sheets that cling to my skin
sins of the father reflected once again
I try to push it all down, to lock it all within
can anyone hear me, or did I die alone?
can anyone see me or did I die alone?
ancient hymns from the past
a treasure map carved from my soul
step right up, be the first in line
this is where our boy finally loses his mind
trials and tribulations it's nothing new
dog bit the nosy neighbor now that bugger wants to sue
will some random killer come and take my life?
if given the opportunity would I cheat on my wife?
the list is endless I could go on forever
a disconnect when my mind shuts down

Shed My Skin
06:39
|
|

sordid details emerge
a hidden past, so long ago
whisper my confession on the wind
so no one else will know
BREAK ME DOWN AND SHED MY SKIN
BUILD ME UP AGAIN
ONE MORE TIME
and offer me not temptation
relieve this desperation
one more time
the past figures in my dismissal of the facts today
erodes this heart of stone
so this,too, can fade away
embers smolder, forever, in my sin
to look around is to look within
no else notices but you

The Road To Redemption
17:59
|
|
||
explorations of my past that I can only see in the dream
unanswered calls of desperation
a path made of slender threads of insecurity
drive away the tension that hides what is within
untold miles on the endless road
there has to be a way back
ROAD TO REDEMPTION
road to redemption cleanse me
bring me back home again
withered and broken hair full of grey
wiser than the younger man,
now there's a heavy price to pay
sins of the father, seeking redemption today
a lifetime of mistakes, my wish is to atone
years in the making this decision to get back home
step by step and all alone
things that can be changed
and things that cannot
There is a Road To Redemption

in darkness once again, I'm driving without thinking of anything but you
hours before the sunlight ignites these streets again
though the road goes on forever
once again I find myself here without you
a crossroads where back and forth meet
only you could really know just how this feels
it's the weight of the world she said to me
the surface tension that gets us all
it's the weight of the world she said to me
what will be will always be
it's the weight of this world can't you feel the surface tension
as we reach velocity?
mesmorized by the rapid passage of time
miles on the endless road ever moving forward
to leave this past behind
all the while I wonder what might have happened
if we had it all to do again
falling from the sky it's hard to know
can you feel the surface tension as we reach velocity?
the push and pull between me and you the surface tension
as we turn away. just one more day
mesmorized by the rapid passage of time
miles on the endless road ever moving forward
to leave this past behind
all the while I wonder what might have happened
if we had it all to do again let's stay together
I've finally come back home, a place to hide
a shelter against the storm outside a place for me to hide
I've finally come back home
It's the weight of the world she said to me...
